One of us grew up in Dublin. The other in Liverpool. Two grey port cities on either side of the Irish Sea, where everything you own eventually picks up a faint white tide line, and you stop noticing it after a while.

Now we both live in Lisbon. The light is different here. The rain mostly stops. But the salt-edged, lived-in thing about port cities is hard to shake, and we brought it with us.

Saltmark started because we kept noticing the same thing in the work we admired. It lasted! It got repeated! It stuck to people the way salt sticks to wood! A good brand, we've come to think, isn't loud. It's residual. It leaves a mark, and the mark holds.
